All of Richard's victims were random. There have been no connections found between any of the victims. He committed his first murder in 1977, December the 29th. Ambrose Griffin was shot dead by Richard Chase in a drive-by shooting. His second murder is probably the most disturbing murder he has committed. On January 23, 1978 (only one month after his first murder) Richard Chase entered through an unlocked door of Teresa Wallin, who was pregnant at the time. He shot her three times, abused her dead body, completely mutilated it and removed some body parts, and drank her blood. He had clearly gone insane. Four days later, Richard Chase murdered again. This time he shot 38 year old Evelyn Miroth, her six year old son Jason, her family friend, and her 22 month old nephew David. David wasn't murdered at the crime scene but taken away by Richard Chase and later found dead, on the streets. At the crime scene, blood was found everywhere. Corpses were lying on the ground, mutilated, with various parts of their body missing. Richard Chase had murdered six people in the time span if 2 months.
